Tifinagh (auch Tifinar) ist das Schriftsystem der Tuareg welches aus der libyschen Schrift entwickelt wurde. Die Tuareg sind ein zu den Berbern zählendes nomadisches Volk in Nordafrika, dessen Siedlungsgebiet sich über die Sahara und den Sahel erstreckt.

Besonderheiten

Die Tuareg zeichneten ihre Buchstaben meist mit dem Finger in den Sand. Aus diesem Grund sind kaum bleibende Schriften bekannt.
